Square Enix’s TGS 2012 Line Up is Boring

TGS 2012 is coming and while many game companies love to turn up the excite-0-meter to get gamers pumped up, Square Enix decided to do the opposite and just use the floor for promoting…I guess.

  • Bravely Default: Flying Fairy (3DS) [Japan Only]
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PS3, 360, PC) [Square Enix-published in Japan Only]
  • Chosoku Henkei Gyrozetter (Arcade) [Japan Only]
  • Demon’s Score (iOS, Android) [Android ver. Japan Only]
  • Galaxy Dungeon (Gree) [Japan Only]
  • Emperor’s Saga (Gree) [Japan Only]
  • Final Fantasy III (PSP) [Japan Only]
  • Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PS3, PC)
  • Hitman: Absolution (PS3, 360, PC)
  • Lord of Vermilion Re:2 (Arcade) [Japan Only]
  • Otome-Break! (iOS, Android) [Japan Only]
  • Sleeping Dogs (PS3, 360, PC)
  • Symphonica: Grand Maestro (iOS)
  • The World Ends With You: Solo Remix (iOS)<—seriously

That it? C’mon, Square. I know you gotta promote your games, but man this list puts me to sleep. Besides Bravely Default (which is so far Japanese only) all these games are already out or are just plain uninteresting. What’s even scarier is the fact that your western games appear more enticing. Of course they could at any moment decide to make a big reveal but I just don’t see that happening especially with Versus 13 still in the back burner.

I recall back to TGS 2004 when Square was showing off Kingdom Hearts 2 and Advent Children with trailers and footage. Man, those were good days. I just hope that by next TGS we’ll be looking at something big. A Kingdom Hearts 3 announcenment would seriously blow everyone’s mind off (HINT HINT).
