Animania 2013 Tournaments and Rules

It’s hard to believe that once again, we are only less than one week away from Animania Bahrain!

As you all may have noticed, we are the official gaming section organizers for Animania 2013, and we have quite a nice arrangement ready for you gamers once you come to the event!

As for the gaming tournaments this year we have announced that we will be running 3 tournaments:

• Black Ops 2
• Fifa 2013
• The King of Fighters XIII

You can register for the tournaments here. As for the rules and details of the tournaments, we recommend you read through them, to avoid any surprises on the day of the event.

Tournament date: Mar/15/2013(event date)

Location: Gaming section, Animania 2013

Console: PS3

Fee: 2.5 BHD

General Rules:

• You will only need to pay the fee once you are seated to play your first match, get the cash ready beforehand since we can’t wait for you to get it.
• If you register in two tournaments, the fee will apply twice
• You may not register for both the KOF and Fifa 2013 tournaments together, as they will be running at the same time
• Kindly bring any form of ID (CPR, license…) for us to identify you, if you can’t we will ask you to provide us with your phone number and full name.
• You may use your own joystick. The joystick may NOT have turbo buttons or any form of mods, they are considered cheating.
• Each match will have a dedicated judge. The judge’s decision is FINAL, if a judge makes a decision, do not argue with him.
• If you suspect someone is cheating or breaking the rules, inform the judge on your station and wait for his decision.

Penalties:

• Cheating = immediate disqualification (judge will decide), we may even kick you out of the event, no one respects a cheater.
• Trash talk or cursing is not allowed (“lulz you r a N00B”, “you cheater!”, “****!”…). First time you will receive a warning, 2nd time you are disqualified. If you have an issue with a player, talk to the judge on your station. If you want to say something to the other player say something nice or don’t say it.
• The PS button rule (obstructing gameplay by pressing home or start), you will receive a warning if you do it, the 2nd time it happens you will be disqualified even if you didn’t mean to do it. An intentional press of the PS button = instant disqualification with no 2nd chances (judge will decide).
• If you are late or not available for your match = disqualification. We call the phone number you provide, but you need to be close to the tournament area.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

• Free for All
• 30 kills to win
• Map: Hijacked
• 8 minute game
• Top players will move on (number depends on the stage of the tournament), losers are eliminated from the tournament
• Finals: Also, 8 minute FFA
• Restricted weapons/equipment:
  • SMAW
  • RPG
  • Shotguns
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Target Finder
  • Tactical Insertion

Fifa 2013

• 5 minute halves, no extra time, penalties
• Pre-game formation: maximum of 2 minutes, exceeding the time is not allowed.
• Formation screen: 3 times only, you must ask the judge to make a substitution before you press start, if you don’t do this it will be considered as the PS button rule (obstructing gameplay). The judge may not allow you to make a substitution if you are in the middle of an attack or defense.
• Season: Summer
• Time: Night
• Weather: Clear
• Difficulty:  Legendary
• Camera: Tele Broadcast
• Semi-Final and Finals: 5 minute halves, Classic extra time
• As soon as your game draws, give the controller to the judge, and he will select the penalties option

King of Fighters XIII

• Single game  Best of 3 games
• Single elimination bracket (to give the chance for the most amount of players to play)
• 3 on 3 characters
• Random stage
• Max 1 minute of changing controls (please change back the controls for the next player)
• Max of 1 minute button testing
• Time: 90 Seconds
• Rest are default settings
•  loser can change characters but winner can only change the order
• Finals: Best of 3 5 games

Please note, that these rules are done to best fit the time-frame and setting we are trying to run the tournaments in. Be sure that we will run enhanced rules when we make gaming specific events in the future.
