Oh, my. Silent Hill HD Collections Sucked Because Konami Lost The Source Code

sh2derp

It seems a lot of fans (me included) were disappointed by the Silent Hill HD collection. The game was cluttered with bugs and glitches which sometimes rendered the game unplayable. Everyone started pointing fingers at Hijinx Studios who were blamed for this travesty. I mean, how can anyone mess up this bad on something that’s already done? Well, it seems the light has finally been shed on the matter.

According to the project’s main producer, Tomm Hulett, the original source code for both Silent Hill games were lost by Konami. This forced the developers to use what’s left (most likely the half finished version) of both games to get it out the door. To make it worse, Konami didn’t even inform the developers of this, which put the team in a very tight spot.

Could this also explain the mysterious lack of Silent Hill 4 and the original Silent Hill 3 voice-overs? MAAAYBE. One things for sure though, Konami has proved to us once again why it’s always important to back up your shit. Same goes for you, SEGA!
