Mega Man and Sonic Unite In Epic Archie Series Crossover

post_ofawesomness

Just days before the San Diego Comic Con, Archie comics have finally announced what we’ve all been waiting for. A cross over of the two most famous blue heroes of our generation–Sonic The Hedgehog and Mega Man!

I need a new pair of pants

The Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series have been a fan favourite since the early 90’s and have gone over to produce over 200 issues. With the Mega Man comic book series being Archie’s newest baby, many have wondered if they will ever do a crossover.

The books’ editor, Paul Kaminski, received word that Sega and Capcom signed off on the crossover just before New York Comic Con last fall, and his first call was to Flynn.

“His response was, ‘I have been writing that story since we began the Mega Man title,’ ” Kaminski says. “Of course, I thought he was joking, but not an hour later my inbox was flooded with Sonic/Mega Man story synopses.”

It will a 12 part series (which is quite big) and will begin sometime in 2013. Bare in mind that this is Classic 8-Bit Mega Man’s universe and not his future representations.

The definition of AWESOME

The blue bomber may have been missing in action lately but we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he is still living strong in comic book form.

    Sounds pretty freaking terrible.

    Nice. @Italo, Sega. Capcom would make one heck of a game out of this.

    @Xero: Haha. Believe it.

    Sega would probably lose the point of the game. Capcom would just cancel it. Whatever the case, a promise for a game wouldn’t turn out well.

    @remeranauthor Have you ever read the comic series? I don’t think you have, because they’re widely regarded as pretty freakin’ good. Archie will give these two heroes the respect they deserve that their own companies refuse to give them.

    Twelve issues jeeze that’s a long ‘ol haul. It could be a bit of fun but we’ll have to wait and see I guess.

    dr wily and dr eggman are equally good with robots but metal sonic would kill them both. basically just watch their deathbattle against each other. I am not suprised by the crossover.
