Interesting Mega Man News Coming Dec 17

Megaman_post

Christian Svensson, Senior Vice President of Capcom  US, mentioned that we are indeed getting some fresh Mega Man news on the 17th of this month. IGN managed to confirm that it’s something new and most likely has nothing to do with SF X MM.

Even if Capcom is still trying to assess how to approach the future, it apparently has no shortage of plans for 2013. When pressed about what’s coming, and specifically asked about bringing the Mega Man games to the Nintendo 3DS’s eShop (as they are in Japan), Elston wouldn’t get into details – but he did provide a timetable for when that information would be shared – December 17, the same day Street Fighter X Mega Man will be available for download. And that won’t be everything. More announcements will even be made a0fter that date.

Sven also mentioned to Kotaku there’s still a lot of planning in process that will extend through out 2013

Kotaku: What if it doesn’t whet fans’ appetite? What are Capcom’s plans for a standalone Mega Man game?

Svensson: Alas, on that front, I’ll need to keep you in suspense. We’re still having many conversations about the future of the franchise and I hope to have more news to share at some point during the 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2013.

With the announcement of Street Fight X Mega Man (plus that awesome Team Legends demo) one can hope the 17th would bring more good news for the blue bomber. A new game? A new plan? A new universe? Whatever it is we should always keep our expectations in check. BUT! If it is should happen to be something new then I hope its not 8-bit Mega Man related. I for one want to see more exposure on his other versions. I can’t be the only one who wants that, right?

I like 8 bit as well as 16 bit and 32 bits.. No big deal. Maybe they can pull 128 or 256 bit ? 🙂

I hope it’s not 8-bit either, and I doubt it will be but I hope it’s Legends related so badly.

Well this interest me. It’s seems to be something big; Capcom I still hope about a new (epic) Megaman game.

The only thing interesting about this, is how Capcom thinks they’ll get my $60 ever again. Because of all of these 8-bit, and canceled titles, I’ve divorced myself from this series.

You can’t leave Megaman! I understand abandoning Capcom like a flaky whore, but when they creep through the cracks trying to get back into your heart with what you loved in the first place. Maybe it’s worth considering some interest, but not worth total trust or faith in them. Cause whatever there is will most likely have DLC packaged in the original finished product.

I get the feeling Capcom is going to pull a Blizzard:

“Yeah, it’s nice that you got all of those signatures together, but we just don’t feel like releasing Warcraft Adventures. Go fuck yourselves, we do what we want.”

I’m paraphrasing, of course, but that was pretty much the spirit.
