Dragon Age has been my favorite fantasy backdrop almost as soon as I played Dragon Age: Origins when it was first released. It beat most D&D backdrops and it sure as hell beat Mass Effect for me. Despite the wonderful stories (yep I even read the book… at-least the one I know about. Don’t know if there are any others.), the colorful characters, and the ability to alter the fate of the world to some degree, the game suffered horribly from what I consider to be the worst RPG gameplay I have ever personally experienced. Seriously the gameplay sucked harder than… Well lets not get into unpleasant details… Point is, they sucked!
Once again, I am teased by what seems like another excellent story BUT nothing… Absolutely nothing about the game play other than a suggestion that the game may be an open world based game. I do not know if that’s true or even possible given the almost cinematic focus the game takes. But it would be very nice if they could pull off an open world game with the same story options the previous one did.
The game was slated for a 2014 release.
