Gaming site SPOnG has received a rumor stating that Platinum Games’ Bayonetta 2 was cancelled by SEGA. SEGA’s recent financial troubles has been forcing the company to restructure and focus on core brands which have led to layoffs and game cancellations.
“While it was not possible to ascertain from our source if Bayonetta 2 had begun development internally, the detail of a potential new character would suggest that plans were at least in a pre-production design stage.”
I understand SEGA cancelling games to survive, but this was one of those “good” games that the company really needed, especially now. Then again this is a rumor and the game was never officially announced. I see no reason to be crying over invisible spilled milk.
