Dragon age: Origins unnatural plot

22 November 2009

I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Origins the last few weeks. It’s a great game but I noticed that its plot is really unnatural.

Just imagine: when your family are sick, you have to go around asking for help from various places. Place A: out of stock; place B: Having to change employer; place C: burned down…

OK, why troubles always found its way to the main character? It’s a Blight and suddenly everything just goes wrong on its own way. They’re not related to the Blight at all. I know that I MUST do something to have their help (this is a RPG and that’s expected) but at least make it look natural (like in other game where the evil cause this, that… and you need to correct) other than just “everywhere just happen to have its own serious problems that just happen when you're about to ask for their help”.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m really enjoy the game but it seem to be a bit unnatural to have all the troubles that are not related to the main plot to happen just exactly when you need some help.
